Program Introduction

The Computer Science program at California State University, East Bay (CSU East Bay) aims to provide students with a comprehensive education in both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of computer science. The program offers expertise in various fields including software development, network security, database management, and artificial intelligence, and leverages its geographical advantage of being close to Silicon Valley in the Bay Area to provide industry-connected, practical education through close collaborations with the tech industry. This program is designated as a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) field, allowing international students to benefit from up to 36 months of Optional Practical Training (OPT) after graduation. CSU East Bay's Computer Science program offers both Bachelor of Science (BS) and Master of Science (MS) degrees, and is designed to equip students with the capabilities to adapt to rapidly changing technological environments.
